Whatever defined you before you came to faith in Christ no longer defines you in Christ today. While salvation comes to everyone who has given their life to Jesus Christ we must realize that our past does not define who we are today. As believers we are defined in who Christ is in us!
Therefore every believer must understand that their measure of freedom in Christ also means a new life. This life is not just for the believer, but for God. Believers in Christ must also realize that they are God’s representative as change agents. They are God’s instruments for His work and for His glory.
In this lesson we learn three truths from 2 Corinthians 5:16 – 6:2. Believers learn that they are:
- Reborn in Christ
- Reconciled in Christ
- Ready in Christ.
As the apostle Paul begged the Corinthians to understand this truth, God speaks to every believer to know whom they are in Christ and what only he can provide in salvation. Believers must also know that since they are in Christ, they too must be ready to tangibly be God’s agent of change to a lost and dying world.
