The life of King David was blessed beyond measure. God had delivered his enemies into his hands, the monarchy of Israel was now firmly established. David in his zeal for the Lord desires to build him a house, a new temple in which to house the ark of the covenant. Yet the Lord tells David He will build him a house that will be a dynasty forever.
While God promised David He would make him a great name, God’s plans for David were not temporary, but eternal. Just as God had promises for David, He has promises for everyone, yet those promises are only to be fulfilled through His Son, Jesus Christ. In this message we learn how and why God’s promises are fulfilled. Here are four areas we will hear from:
- God’s promises are personal
- God promises rest
- God promises a future
- We live by God’s promises, not by man’s explanations
