See People, Not Appearances
Join us in the message of Joshua chapter two. In this passage we hear how God began his mission for the nation of Israel. More importantly we hear how God has a great mission for us! In this message we hear how God sees people, not appearances.
Psalm 1
In this mid-week worship service we turn to the book of Psalms. Tonight we are in Psalm 1. We take see the path that each of us has before us. The path of the godly and the path of the ungodly. Each of us are given free will. So, how do we decide which path to take? The answer to that question is in Psalm 1.
Trust the One Who Calls
God wanted Joshua to trust His promise and plans, while protecting him. When God calls us to do what seems impossible, we need to be focused on what He says, rather than what we think. In this message we see three things we can trust God with in our lives.
- When God calls we need to trust his promises.
- When God calls we need to trust his plans.
- When God calls we need to trust his protection.

Give in to Jesus, not fear
People are panicking everywhere. In the midst of the chaos we all need someone to trust. In Matthew 8 the disciples focused on fear of circumstances rather than faith in a person. God desires for you to overcome your fears of the world when you realize who Jesus really is, but how? By not giving way to your fear. Let’s follow the steps of faith in Jesus.
- Faith starts by following Jesus v. 23
- Faith grows by focusing on Jesus Vv. 24-25
- Faith matures when we respond to Jesus Vv. 26-27
Victory with the Spirit
When a believer experiences sin in their life it is not the end for their relationship with God. However, since Jesus paid the sin debt it does not give a license for Christians to live carelessly with reckless abandon. Once a person has come to faith in Christ they are free from their sins and he or she is free to live, love and serve God.
So how is a person who has come to faith in Christ suppose to deal with sin that occurs? This message will help explain that God has also provided His Spirit to help with the power to overcome sin that still may occur in the life of a believer. The victory over the flesh (sin) is made available by the Holy Spirit in these ways:
There is victory over the flesh by walking in the Spirit through love
The fruit of the Spirit is victory over the flesh
Victory over sin is crucifying the flesh
Victory over the flesh is through love
